Currently during the summer and fall of 2002 the 225th anniversary of the Battles of
Saratoga is being celebrated. Mohican and Oneida men participated in the various battles.
Descendants of the men who were part of the September and October battles are being sought. More information is available at Victory at Saratoga and the Northern Campaign.
On October 6, 2002, the Times Union published an ignorant and inaccurate article written
by Kenneth C. Crowe III about Native Americans' participation in the American Revolution,
leaving the Mohicans out completely. The Times Union unfairly refused to publish my letter
correcting the article. Read the letter now
